Training & Development

To encourage need-based learning, Abir has defined learning hours at all levels.

The training works across levels within the organization to ensure uniformity of learning, whether in technical skills or soft skills  area. Outside faculties are arranged to conduct 2-3 day seminars on team building, motivation, stress management etc.

As part of post employment training and development opportunities, a systematic training plan has been formulated wherein employee knowledge sharing sessions are conducted every fortnight by pooling in-house talent.

Employees are regularly sent to attend relevant seminars and conferences to groom them for assuming positions of higher responsibility, as well as specific need-based interventions based on scientific knowledge and experience.

Our one year Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) programme offers freshers, recruited through campus placement in the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Geology and IT, M360 hours of class room training was conducted for a new batch of GET. Besides a comprehensive one year training comprising theoretical inputs as well as on-the-job training, the new recruits are also sent to various relevant Power Projects functioning all over the country to familiarize them with various aspects of construction and design.

To introduce novel energy to the Company, campus placements are done for engineering graduates/post-graduates and MBAs from premier institutes across the country.

For the year 2009, around 50 students have joined our team.

Employee Motivation and Welfare Measures

Employee motivational levels are kept high by following non-hierarchical work environment and transparency.

To make the performance appraisal system very fair and just, self appraisal system is followed where all experties are assessed to revise salary structures and span of responsibilities enlarged to motivate encourage team building and fairness.

To take care of employee grievances a greviance handling committee has been constituted comprising of members from various departments where employees can freely express their problems/grievances either in person, writing or email, which is kept confidential and redressed on priority.

On special occasions such as, birthdays, wedding and wedding anniversaries, employees are felicitated by the Company.

To stimulate the working culture regular get-togethers are organized for employees as well as their families.
 
In order to release stress and keep health of employees sound, Yoga classes have been organized for all employees for one hour in the evening, under the supervision of a very senior and renowned yoga specialist.

As a part of employee welfare measure, employees and their families are covered under mediclaim policy and employees are also covered under accident insurance policy.
